Ok, so as a stay at home Mom in a blended family of 10, I obviously have some things to say. From fun to frantic, work to play....here is where it is all voiced. (You honestly think I can get a word in edgewise anywhere else???) ;)

Epic fail!!
So hubby was making some pancakes for breakfast and I decided to make some BFC pancakes for the first time ever. I didn't have coconut flour... so i used 1/2 almond flour and 1/2 soy flour. Then I threw in some shredded coconut. Hubby is the best pancake maker on the planet so i had him cook it up for me. It looked perfect! Itopped it with a little Natures Hollow syrup. IT WAS DISGUSTING!!! Probably one of the most vile things ever and for sure the worst bfc food I've ever made. Granted I mixed recipes and colored outside the lines a bit but it was really gross and made my tummy hurt. The rest of the mix went down the drain and I will never experiment with flours again! Lol.

HI Randi, you made me laugh. I have never tried soy flour but mixing it with the coconut flakes and almond flour does sound a bit weird. Try again with either just the almond or coconut flour. they really are not bad.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day :-)
Bummer!! I don't think you should give up on the flours, either. almond flour is really yummy, and coconut flour is super filling (and yummy, once you get it right, LOL) I don't think I'd like soy flour though. blech. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI personally think soy flour is yuckers! I bought it to make the muffin recipe in the bfc book and it was so gross, tasted nasty and smelled horrible I threw the rest out. I would try pancakes again sans soy flour...just my 2 cents. Have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteYour funny. You wouldn't think that mixing flours would taste weird. Maybe like Katie said it was the soy yuckiness. Have a good day.
